This book reminds me of The Giver because they both take place in magical worlds. Books about alternate universes or worlds are my favorite because they aren't boring and about stuff that can happen in this world. My favorite books are probably The Giver, The Hunger Games, and so far this series, and all three of those books all take place in some place different than Earth.

When I was in 6th Grade I had to write a story about one of the pictures our teacher put up, and I wrote my story about a little girl who lived by her self and had a hidden closet in the house, and when the police came to the house and wondered why nobody would pay rent or anything like that they found a bunch of weird items that I can't specifically remember hidden in the closet, and the little girl just playing with them.

The part in the beginning where they talked about The German's dropping bombs on London reminded me of when the German's dropped bombs on London. I had learned about this back in 7th Grade and we listened to a radio broadcast describing it and it sure sounded like a terrifying time. A lot of children had to leave their homes and leave their parents there to die. Most kids never got to see their fathers and mothers or aunts and uncles. A lot of siblings were split up too.
